The Idolatry of Statism

The Idolatry of Statism is a powerful critique of the ways in which Christians have conflated their faith with nationalism, militarism, and allegiance to the state. Through essays by various authors, the book explores how Jesus denationalized God’s followers, rejecting political power and earthly kingdoms, and calls Christians to prioritize their citizenship in the Kingdom of God. It challenges the idolatry of statism, blind nationalism, and imperial Christianity, urging believers to reject allegiance to worldly powers and embrace the radical, nonviolent, and inclusive mission of Christ.
