In 1996, Gary exposed how the organized crime CIA hired drug dealer Danilo Blandon and other traffickers, to sell massive amounts of cocaine in the United States, in order to raise untraceable funds to finance a terrorist organization known as the Contras, that were trying to overthrow the Nicaraguan government.

These massive shipments of cocaine ultimately resulted in the crack epidemic that decimated the inner cities during the 90s which Gary wrote about in: Dark Alliance – The CIA, the Contras, and Crack Cocaine Explosion^[ii] ((Dark Alliance by Gary Webb in PDF from: The Liberator in the folder: Important Books in PDF.)). As a result, the monopolized mainstream media vilified Gary Webb, destroyed his career which also led to the destruction of his marriage.

Gary refused to back down and stood firm against the system. Gary was found dead with two bullet wounds to his head where his death was ruled a suicide even though he had reported unusual activity at his home.
