The Art of Liberty Foundation
The Art of Liberty Foundation is a start-up public policy organization founded by Etienne de la Boétie². We work to expose, as widely as possible, the illegitimacy and criminality of “government” as a technique of intergenerational organized crime to rob and control populations. We call this thesis Organized Crime Theory (OCT). We are advocates for voluntaryism, or REAL freedom: a society in which services traditionally provided by “government” and funded through extortion are provided better, faster, and cheaper by free markets, mutual aid societies, nonprofits, insurance companies, and genuine charities, without the waste, fraud, and abuse of monopoly “government.”
The foundation produces books, articles, newsletters, podcasts, memes, videos, infographics, and conferences that explain the basics of voluntaryism and libertarianism while exposing the illegitimacy, illogic, and immorality of “government” as well as its criminality and corruption. Finally, the foundation researches strategies for exposing and transitioning from organized crime and government control to real freedom and voluntary, free-market solutions.

It has a more substantial scholarly pedigree than most people expect, yet it is almost entirely absent from compulsory state schooling and monopoly media and social media.
We are advocates for voluntaryism, or REAL freedom: a society in which services traditionally provided by “government” and funded through extortion are provided better, faster, and cheaper by free markets, mutual aid societies, nonprofits, insurance companies, and genuine charities, without the waste, fraud, and abuse of monopoly “government.”
We advocate three things: the peaceful and orderly dissolution of the corrupt and illegitimate federal “government”; an end to inflationary money creation; and the return of its services to the individual states as a path toward full privatization.
We spread voluntaryist and libertarian ideas through media designed for visual learners, busy people, and short attention spans. The foundation produces books, articles, newsletters, podcasts, memes, videos, infographics, and conferences that explain the basics of voluntaryism and libertarianism while exposing the illegitimacy, illogic, and immorality of “government” as well as its criminality and corruption.
Finally, the foundation researches strategies for exposing and transitioning from organized crime and government control to real freedom and voluntary, free-market solutions. These include libertarian intentional communities; political secession; the transition of non-redistributive government services to private schools, protection companies, arbitration providers, restitution-based (rather than retribution-based) private prisons, and insurance-supported private fire brigades; and technologies that promote digital liberty and free markets, such as private encrypted communications, anonymous digital cash, and free-market monetary competition.
