Why We Need Voluntaryist Voices to Break Us Free from the Rigged Games of “Government” and “Elections”

Dear Subscribers,

Our lead story and videos this week are examples of why the Art of Liberty Foundation is so needed and why we are so unique. I have been wanting to write about the incremental tyranny that is being rapidly instituted in the US, but have been bogged down with customer service issues from “The Corbett Bump” that generated hundreds and hundreds of orders from 20+ countries. We were in the process of moving to a new Internet store at ArtOfLiberty.org/store from our existing store at Government-Scam.com/store when the bump hit, and the new store wasn’t ready for prime time. I estimate that we lost thousands of dollars due to excessively high shipping costs, particularly internationally, which led to customers abandoning their carts. We have a small crew, and I have had to step in to manage numerous customer service issues.

From all the news I read and skimmed, John and Nisha Whitehead at the Rutherford Institute had the best article on the incremental tyranny that is being rapidly rolled out and beta-tested in the country. From troops on the streets of Washington, DC, to 10,000+ new jackbooted thugs at ICE to 100,000+ new detention cells being built around the country, the police state is coming in fast and hard. Aaron and Melissa Dykes had the best video rant.

Both of them seem intellectually crippled by the Statism they were force-fed in their youth. Both miss the complete illegitimacy of the “government” and “constitution” on its face… Both are still locked into the easily rigged games of “government” and “elections.”

This is why voluntaryist voices are so needed! Nothing could bring this incremental tyranny to a halt faster than the widespread understanding of the illegitimacy of “government” on its face… or exposing the inter-generational organized crime system running the puppets in DC (and Moscow, Tel Aviv, London, etc.) Until John, Nisha, Aaron, and Melissa are “Striking the Root” and exposing the illegitimacy of “government,” they are simply hacking at the branches of evil while trapped in the rigged game of voting harder on unauditable black box voting machines and paper ballots. I wish I could hire a couple of voluntaryist writers and content creators to help me break down these developments from a principled voluntaryist perspective, vs. having to syndicate Statist voices, but that is where I am this week.

Ballard Partners entered the crowded lobbying arena in 2017, and as recently as last year it was ranked outside the top 15 firms in terms of lobbying revenue. But thanks to its close ties to the Trump administration, the firm rocketed to the top of the list in the second quarter of 2025.

Ballard’s income mushroomed to $20 million during April, May and June, an increase of $6.1 million over the previous period. While Brownstein, Hyatt — the top lobbying firm every year from 2021 to 2024 — remains the overall leader for the year, it saw an increase of just $1.7 million in Q2 to $18.5 million. If Ballard maintains a lead in each of the next two quarters, it would not only dethrone the reigning champ — it could break the record for annual earnings ($67.8 million, set last by Brownstein, Hyatt).

You Say You Want a Revolution?

Of all of the claims made by proponents of socialism, one of the most outlandish is that there is anything “revolutionary” about that ideology. For thousands of years, human history has been dominated by stories of conquest and domination. Even by 2025, societies that show a high regard for individual liberty and protection for property rights are the exception and not the rule. Proponents of socialism will tell you that they dream of an egalitarian society, and that getting there will require a massive redistribution of wealth. What they leave out are the ugly bits:

New US high-speed breaker tested at 1,800-volt could spark DC electricity boom

Researchers at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) have developed a new circuit breaker that operates hundreds of times faster than traditional models, clearing a path for a safer and more efficient US power grid.

“The ORNL team developed medium-voltage circuit breakers capable of handling increasing levels of direct current at a lower cost,” said the research team.

The device interrupts currents of 1,400 volts in less than 50 microseconds—a speed essential for protecting next-generation direct current (DC) power systems.

“Until now, semiconductor breakers have been too expensive to either compete economically with mechanical breakers for AC, or to facilitate expanded use of DC grids,” stated the researchers in a press release.

“No type of commercial breaker can handle DC above 2,000 volts, and most can’t achieve half that.”

Trump puts $50 million bounty on Venezuelan president for helping terrorists bring ‘deadly violence’ to US

The Trump administration is now offering a $50 million reward to anyone who can provide information leading to the arrest of Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro, who is widely considered a dictator.

The announcement came directly from Attorney General Pam Bondi, who accused Maduro of conspiring with multiple gangs to bring guns and illegal drugs into the United States.

‘Maduro uses foreign terrorist organizations like [Tren de Aragua], Sinaloa and Cartel of the Suns to bring deadly drugs and violence into our country,’ she said.

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has so far seized 30 tons of cocaine that were subsequently linked to Maduro and his associates, Bondi said.

Nearly seven tons of that total was linked to Maduro himself, she added, explaining that this represents a primary source of income for gangs operating in Venezuela and Mexico.

Trump Authorized Military Operations on Foreign Soil to Target Latin American Cartels

President Donald Trump has ordered the US military to take direct actions against Latin American cartels, including conducting operations on foreign soil. The Mexican government rejected a proposal from Trump earlier this year that would have allowed the US military to target cartels in Mexico. Congress has not authorized Trump to attack cartels, so any military actions, including covert action, would be unconstitutional.

Former CNN Host Jim Acosta Interviews AI Generated Version of Dead Teen to Push Gun Control

‘No Place In Our Community’: Santa Cruz Residents Sue County Over AT&T Cell Tower

(Children’s Health Defense) Residents of Santa Cruz County, California, are suing the county for allegedly illegally approving the placement of a 140-foot AT&T cell tower in a rural residential neighborhood.

The residents want the court to order the county to withdraw the tower’s approval.

Tim Richards, with Santa Cruz County for Safe Tech, the group opposing the tower, told The Defender he and his family will be forced to relocate if the tower is built.

“My wife and I are sensitive to radiofrequency radiation, which triggers migraine headaches and fatigue for us,” he said. “We specifically moved to this mountaintop to escape towers in town.”

He and his wife have two kids, ages 1 and 5. Children are more susceptible to negative health impacts from wireless radiation, Richards said.

Chinese Authorities Mandating Blood Tests, Releasing Lab Mosquitoes to Fight Chikungunya Outbreak

As the chikungunya outbreak continues to spread in China, the prevention and control measures imposed by the Chinese communist regime have been causing increasing concerns among medical professionals and the Chinese public.

Guangdong Province reported 1,387 new chikungunya cases in the past week (Aug. 3 to Aug. 9), according to a notice by the provincial Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. There have been no deaths from the virus reported so far, according to the Chinese agency.

The Ford F-Series remains America’s most popular vehicle with 412,848 units sold, followed by the Chevrolet Silverado (284,038) and Toyota RAV4 (239,451).

The top five vehicles are all either pickup trucks or compact SUVs, underscoring continued consumer preference for size, utility, and versatility over traditional sedans.

The first half of 2025’s best-selling cars in the U.S. confirms America’s long-standing love affair with trucks and SUVs.

Pickup models from Ford, Chevrolet, and Ram continue to dominate the top ranks, while compact SUVs from Toyota and Honda also make strong showings. Sedans, once the default choice for many households, are now largely absent from the bestseller list.

Trump Puts Washington DC Under Federal Control, Calls in 800 National Guard Troops

President Trump declared a public safety emergency in Washington, DC for 30 days and placed Attorney General Pam Bondi in charge of the Metropolitan Police Department. 800 National Guard troops have been deployed inside of DC to assist with law enforcement. Official figures reportedly show that crime in DC is declining, with violent crime recently hitting a 30-year low.Trump says the numbers are cooked. He is warning that if his program is successful in DC, he may expand it to Chicago, Baltimore and Oakland.

DC’s homicide rate in 2024—roughly 26.4 homicides for every 100,000 residents—is lower than in both 2023 and its peak in the 1990s. But it’s still nearly seven times higher than New York City’s rate (3.8 per 100,000). DC’s rate is also worse than that of Philadelphia, Atlanta, and even Chicago. In fact, it’s closer to that of infamously crime-ridden cities like Memphis and Detroit.

Canada Locks Down the Woods. Fines Range from $25K – $150K for Hiking, Biking & Fishing

Several provinces in Canada, including Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Newfoundland and Labrador, have issued orders to stay out of the woods, claiming fire danger. On August 5, Nova Scotia, Canada banned people from hiking, camping, fishing and the use of vehicles like ATVs in the woods due to the elevated wildfire risk.

Susan Holt, the Premiere of New Brunswick, admitted that people are not banned from the woods due to the possibility that they could cause a fire, but that they could break a leg and there would be no emergency responders to help them. She actually called for rain dances to stop the fires.

Newfoundland and Labrador says it will fine violators of the burn ban up to $150,000, as well as up to a year in prison.

Canada has been criticized for failing to clear dry brush due to bad policies based on environmentalism that emphasizes “climate change”. Earth.com wrote that a recent study “highlights the urgent need to address fuel aridity through sustainable forest management and climate mitigation efforts.” Aerial water bombers could help extinguish wildfires, but Canada has refused to purchase them. Critics warn that the burn ban is similar to the harmful COVID lockdowns that lasted 3 years.

President Trump has made the move to firmly hit private equity’s (PE) G-Spot: unfettered access to the $12 trillion 401(k) market. This past Thursday, Trump signed an executive order Democratizing Access to Alternative Assets for 401(K) Investors

The order directs the Secretary of Labor Lori Chavez-DeRemer to review and potentially remove the biggest obstacle PE has had in gaining access to 401(k) plans, most notably the plan manager being sued for not performing their fiduciary responsibilities by investing in PE. That’s what happened in 2015 when Intel employees sued the company for what they considered to be lousy returns from PE investments.

These Countries Will Sell You A Passport

For people unhappy with their passport and with the right amount of spare cash hanging around, acquiring a new nationality that – for example – awards visa-free travel to more countries is possible.

As Statista’s Katharina Buchholz reports, according to law firm Henley & Partners, a dozen countries around the world offer passports in exchange for investments and the large majority does not require applicants to move or even visit there.

The scheme is a way for small island states – mainly in the Caribbean – to receive some cash injections into their economies while sharing the wide-reaching visa-free travel priviledges their passports hold.

A passport from St. Kitts and Nevis, for example, offers relatively hassle-free entry to 154 countries, not far off from the world record held by Singapore at 193. Other so-called golden passport countries follow close behind, including Antigua and Barbuda at 152 countries, Grenada at 147, St. Lucia at 146 and Dominica at 143.

In a stunning report, StorageCafe reveals that California remains the “undisputed leader in outbound migration nationwide, with nearly 683,000 residents leaving the state in a single year, according to the latest available U.S. Census data.” The evacuees’ top destination is Texas, which welcomed approximately 98,000 former Californians in 2023 alone.

Millennials are leading the migration to Texas, making up over 31% of all movers. They are followed by Gen Zers, who account for 20%, and Gen Xers, representing nearly 15% of those relocating. Interestingly, Californians moving to Texas tend to earn more than the national average across most age groups, highlighting the financial advantage of the move.

The news from StorageCafe isn’t unique. U-Haul has released a new report, and for the fifth straight year, California topped its Growth Index—meaning more residents of the Golden State rented one-way U-Haul trucks to leave the state in 2024 than residents of any other state. Texas was the top go-to state.

After reaching an agreement with President Trump, David Ellison—the son of the second-richest man in the world, Larry Ellison—has acquired Paramount Global, the media giant that owns CBS News.

Larry Ellison, the largest private funder of the Israel Defense Forces, is deeply tied to the Israeli national security state and counts Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu among his closest friends.

David has already announced significant changes at CBS, promising “unbiased” news coverage and “varied ideological perspectives,” which are widely understood to signal a shift toward right-wing, pro-Trump coverage. Worse still, Bari Weiss, a journalist with a long history of zealous pro-Israel advocacy, is being considered as the network’s new ombudsman, shaping its political direction, precisely because of her “pro-Israel stance.”
